What is ADHD?
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Similar to ADD, the child diagnosed with ADHD symptoms has difficulty concentrating. In addition, a child may also demonstrate disruptive, overstimulated or aggressive behavior and have trouble controlling impulses. This impacts school performance and makes it very hard for the child to stay on task. ADHD symptoms are typically more common in boys than girls. A child with ADHD may be challenging to parent. Western medicine uses medication and therapy for ADHD treatment to help manage the ADHD symptoms. A specialist, not a teacher, must do the diagnosing of ADHD.
ADHD treatment for both children and adults
The usual ADHD treatment course of action is to combine medication, counseling, behavioral modification (children), lifestyle coaching (adults), specialized ADHD diet nutrition, and lifestyle change. Each form of ADHD treatment therapy plays a role with learning how to cope with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder ADHD.
Spiritual Help for what is diagnosed as ADHD
There are parents today allowing professionals to categorize their children with diseases such as ADHD, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Certainly there may be a real, physical brain disorder that is correctly diagnosed as ADHD symptoms in a few children. Still many parents are dangerously drugging their children and suppressing their talented children’s creativeness. Attention parents: wake up and recognize that our creative children instinctively see brighter ways of doing things. Author Doreen Virtue, Ph.D., a spiritual doctor of psychology, states, “ADHD stands for Attention Dialed into a Higher Dimension!” All that is required is for adults to wake up and grow up. Most of our children don’t need drugs! They require mature loving care and extraordinary training. Our children’s gifted imaginations have the ability to design wonders to launch us into the next stage of our humanity! They are natural-born leaders! These sensitive, nonconforming souls are merely frustrated with our fear-based systems that lack integrity.

ADHD Nutrition HelpBoth ADHD Adults and ADHD children alike can benefit from a healthy, nutritional diet. For people with the attention deficit difficulties of ADHD, a healthy diet can be especially helpful in supporting brain development and calming one’s behavior. A natural ADHD diet is definitely worthy of research for ADHD children and ADHD adults.
ADHD Diet & NutritionA proper ADHD diet can greatly improve a person’s body chemistry, blood sugar levels, and healing abilities. Before you embarking on a ADHD diet, teach your child about how to choose nutritious foods. When a parent becomes too obsessive about enforcing an ADHD diet, the child could become resentful and defiant. Most parents find an ADHD diet is much more successful when they focus on one goal at a time, such as decreasing refined sugar in the diet or increasing high-quality protein.
Once you’ve decided to move toward a ADHD diet focused on nutrition, here are some items you will want to include in your family’s regular diet:
Essential fatty acids: Not only are EFA’s like Omega-3 fatty acids great for the cardiovascular system, they are also necessary for brain function. Examples of foods rich in Omega-3 fatty acids include fatty fish (salmon), nuts (walnuts and almonds), and flaxseeds.
Whole grains, leafy green vegetables, beans, and peas: These foods are full of B-vitamins, magnesium, antioxidants, and more ADHD nutrition sources necessary for a healthy body, brain, and nervous system.
Milk, green vegetables, and other sources of calcium: Calcium is needed by your body to regulate many different functions, including nerve impulses.
As you improve ADHD nutrition with high-quality food choices, it may also be helpful to avoid certain foods in your nutritional ADHD treatment. Most candy, potato chips, and other “junk" food are full of empty calories, sugar, and salt which will do little to nourish the body and brain. Limit the consumption of empty calories and try to replace them with healthy snack food choices like fruits, nuts, vegetables, yogurt, cheese, etc. Healthy snacks are also beneficial to an ADHD diet because they stabilize blood sugar levels while also providing key nutrients.
