What is the New Age?

Now that you are into all this New Age stuff, do you have family and friends who are very worried about you, wondering if you have "gone off the deep end" and perhaps joined a cult? May I suggest that they read this article about the "New Age" spirituality to put their minds at ease.

We often fear what we do not understand. The New Age is not a religion, and there is no accompanying doctrine to study. The New Age is but a span of time. The New Age is a world philosophy. There is no central building that New Age spirituality followers have built. In fact, there is no centralized control or headquarters of any kind. New Age believers don't have an organization. The New Age movement has no lobby in Congress. 

There is no priesthood or ministerial program, no approved schools, no priests or deacons, and no programs for teachers to be trained in our church for there is no church! That means we don't have any New Age parochial schools for children, with New Age teacher influences. We have no single person whom we call "leader." There is nothing to join, nobody to follow, and no central book that explains what New Age folks believe. There are no regular meetings, no syndicated television programs, no ministries to support, and no rules to follow. Some cult, huh?  Oh yes, and there is no place to send your money!

New Age philosophy comes from an intuitive knowledge that New Age spirituality believes every human alive possesses. And within this knowledge there is unlimited possibility and creativity!There is wisdom at the cellular level that understands the New Age, connecting us all, no matter what language is spoken. New Age people are a human group understanding as though all is written down somewhere inside of us teaching all of us as we go through life cycles.

New Age humans believe that there are no accidents, rather challenges that we actually help create at some spiritual level. That means that we believe in taking responsibility for everything in our lives. A mainstream New Age spirituality believer would not join a cult, or follow a leader in a suicide, and does not sit around blaming others for who they are. A New Age believer is aware that there is tremendous power within the human being. Self-Worth is learned, as well as how to work through fear and uncertainty. New age believers are open to shifting their beliefs to discover absolute truth. Human enablement is the key, with the intent to create a positive shift in our lives.

New Age spirituality is a term used to describe those that share an enthusiasm for the creation of a new era or "New Age" exemplified by harmony and enlightenment. Even though there are no clear boundaries within the New Age community, several common themes unify the New Age movement. The first New Age spirituality theme is that the arrival of the New Age will initiate a heightened spiritual consciousness accompanied by social and personal transformation demonstrated by the eradication of hunger, sickness, poverty, racism, sexism, and war. The second unifying New Age spirituality theme is that individuals can receive a state of enlightenment through personal, spiritual transformation, spiritual healing, and spiritual growth.

The New Age believer knows that there are forces at work that can balance Humans using energy. New Age believers often use hands-on healing and energy work to balance each other in order to restore wholeness or should I say holy-ness! New Age believers pray for others, meditate for world peace, and strive toward attaining wisdom that will allow us all to love one another no matter what. So are you ready yet to "join" the New Age now? Or perhaps you might like it better if we call the New Age the Real Age! J Blessings!
